Five TDs Bytes & Bites System

Bytes (also called Bites in older patch notes and community slang) are attachable companions that modify how a unit fights in Five Nights TD 2. A Byte does not replace Enchantments or feeding — it stacks with them. Two accounts can own the same Mangle, but the one running Boss Drain into Boss Raids or Kaboom on a single-target carry will clear much farther. This guide covers how to obtain each major Byte, how buffs behave, how Agonize spends Remnants, and which codes shortcut the grind. What Bytes do on a unit

When equipped, a Byte adds a specialty effect and often a small package of damage, range, or cooldown. Some Bytes rewrite attack behavior (splash, execute, boss wither). Others rotate stat bonuses on a timer. Certain units even gain extra passives based on which Byte is attached — for example Animdude-style kits that rotate Box bonuses, amplify Boss Drain hits, or execute with Reaper. Always open the unit’s Byte tooltip after equipping so you see both the Byte’s base effect and any unit-specific Familiar Tools style bonuses.

Treat Bytes like limited gear slots: put your best Agonized copy on a keeper that appears in Best Teams, not on a temporary Toy filler you will replace next week.

Box — present lottery

Box drops rarely from presents of any type. There is no guaranteed single-open path, so volume matters. The practical farm is the AFK chamber for AFK 1 / 2 / 3 Presents, plus Seasonal, Raid, and event presents you open anyway. Expect to burn a large present stack before Box appears. Once equipped, Box’s rotating Damage / Range / Cooldown extras make it a flexible generalist for DPS and some supports.

Kaboom — quest RNG

Kaboom has a small chance whenever you claim a completed quest. Clear daily, weekly, clan, hero, special, and event quests instead of leaving them parked. Kaboom is especially strong on single-target towers that lack natural splash: every other attack (or the Byte’s explosion toggle, depending on the unit) helps shred packs that would otherwise leak past a laser DPS.

Boss Drain — Raid shop purchase

Boss Drain is the most reliable early Byte for players who farm Boss Raids. Buy it from the Raid shop for roughly 300 Raid Coins. It is labeled as a secret-tier Byte in many UIs and is the default attach for boss-heavy content. On compatible units it adds bonus boss damage and wither. Save Raid Coins for Boss Drain before impulse-buying low-value shop junk if you still lack the Byte.

Reaper — kill chance

Reaper can drop while you kill enemies in normal modes. Dense Endless waves and long Boss Raid runs raise contact volume, which raises drop chances over time. Reaper leans into execute windows on low-HP non-boss enemies and crit-style bonuses on kits that list Reaper synergies. It is a strong mid-board Byte when you are farming trash waves between bosses.

Pearl and Bee Byte — code and update paths

Pearl arrived with later Bytes / Pearl patches and can appear through damage-chance systems plus promo rewards. Bee Byte is tightly associated with the HMMMBYTES code bundle. That string (when active) typically grants Tokens, Endo Chips, Springlocks, Remnants, plus Pearl, Box, Bee, and Reaper Bytes behind a Faz-Rating gate — check Codes for the current rating requirement (often around 10k).

Agonize with Remnants

Owning a Byte is only half the system. Agonize upgrades a Byte’s roll using Remnants purchased or earned through the Boss Raid ecosystem. Higher Agonization tiers can push double-digit damage percentages, boss damage, normal-enemy damage, range, and cooldown on the same Byte. Community showcases often highlight Agonization 4 style rolls as the finish line for a main DPS Byte.

Practical Agonize rules:

1. Buy or bank Remnants from the Boss Raid shop and Remnant codes before a long Agonize session.
2. Agonize the Byte that already sits on your primary carry or boss specialist — not every inventory Byte.
3. Accept a strong mid roll on backups; perfectionist-roll only the Byte glued to your meta core.
4. Re-check tooltips after each Agonize; rolls can shift which sub-stat spikes.

Remnants are scarce. Spending them on a Byte you never equip wastes the same currency you need for evolutions and shop presents.

Who should wear which Byte

• Boss specialists and raid boards — Boss Drain first. Pair with units that already shred thick HP bars.
• Single-target DPS without splash — Kaboom to create AoE pressure.
• General story / Endless DPS — Box for flexible rotating stats, or Reaper when execute windows matter.
• Code-fed accounts — Equip Pearl / Bee / Reaper / Box from HMMMBYTES, then Agonize the copy that stays on the board.

Farming loop that actually fills the Byte bag

1. Redeem Byte and Remnant codes on Codes (HMMMBYTES and similar).
2. Park in AFK Mode overnight for present volume aimed at Box.
3. Clear every quest panel for Kaboom chances.
4. Push Boss Raids for Raid Coins → Boss Drain + Remnants.
5. Kill dense waves in Endless / raids for Reaper RNG.
6. Agonize the equipped keeper Byte, then stop.

Bytes reward consistency more than one lucky drop. Build the loop into your weekly schedule the same way you schedule Enchantment Souls and Token summons.
