Five TDs Best Teams & Comps

Build 3–4 DPS with 2–3 support or farm slots for every stage.

Best Teams

Team building in Five Nights TD 2 is a roster problem and a placement problem. You bring a bench into the match, then decide which six (or so) units actually get tiles. The winning pattern across story, Endless, and most PvP lobbies is 3–4 DPS + 2–3 support/farm. This guide walks early, mid, and late/meta comps, notes element synergy, and points you to the tier list and Enchantments for finishing touches.

Team building rules

  1. Cover the path first. A flashy fifth DPS that leaves a lane empty loses to a boring support that holds.
  2. One economy plan. In Endless and long nights, include Fazcade (or your best farm). In short story clears, you can lean heavier on DPS.
  3. Feed keepers only. Do not spread evolve materials across every banner pull — see Getting Started.
  4. Enchant for the job. Damage III on DPS, Range III / Puppetnightmare on supports, Haywire on ability units, Investor on farm.
  5. Respect mode. Copying a pure Endless board into Ranked PvP (or the reverse) is how trophies vanish — read Endless Mode and PvP.

Early game teams

Core idea: cheap, reliable DPS while Tokens and pity build.

  • JJ / Paper Pals — Excellent early damage density for the cost. Keep them until mid units arrive.
  • Toy units (Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, and friends) — Solid story clearers with accessible kits; Toy Chica–style slows help stabilize.
  • Cupcake / Balloon Boy — Supportive early tools when you need utility over raw DPS.

Sample early board: 2× JJ or mixed Toys + one utility support. Skip forcing Fazcade on the shortest tutorial nights if cash never snowballs, but learn the farm tile for later. Early teams exist to finish Game 1 and bank resources — not to mirror September meta screenshots.

Mid game teams

Core idea: replace Toys with scaling carries.

  • Mangle — High-impact DPS that anchors many mid boards.
  • Purple Guy — Continues into late meta; invest feed and enchants early when you pull him.
  • Withered line (Withered Freddy, Withered Foxy, and related) — Strong mid progression units that teach upgrade breakpoints.

Sample mid board: Mangle + Purple Guy + one Withered DPS + one support + optional early farm. This is where Workshop rolls start mattering — do not leave mid carries on Engineer forever. Check Best Units if your pulls differ; A-tier pieces like Shadow Freddy, Endo 01, Jack-O Bonnie, or Toy Chica can fill gaps without waiting for every Secret.

Late / meta teams (Sep 2026 community snapshot)

Core idea: stack meta DPS, protect them with supports, fund them with farm when the mode is long.

Meta DPS anchors

  • Headless Horseman Mangle
  • Dreadbear
  • Purple Guy
  • Mangle (still relevant as a flexible high performer)

S-tier partners often mixed in

  • Scarecrow Freddy, Slasher Bonnie
  • Party Glock Freddy, Party Packer Cupcake
  • Golden Freddy, Withered Freddy, Endo 02

Support / farm spine

  • Party Packer Cupcake / Cupcake lines for utility
  • Fazcade for Endless and long clears (Investor target)
  • Endo 02 as a high-end partner; Endo 01 and Balloon Boy–style supports when you need cheaper coverage

Sample late Endless-leaning board: Headless Horseman Mangle + Dreadbear + Purple Guy + Party Glock Freddy + Fazcade + Party Packer Cupcake / Endo support. Sample story board: swap pure farm for another DPS or support if the night ends before economy matters. Sample PvP board: keep flex bans in mind — enchant at least two DPS so one ban does not delete your plan.

Always re-validate against the live tier list after patches; seasonal banners can insert new Nightmare or event units above these names.

Element synergy notes

Diversify damage types so one resistant wave does not hard-counter the entire board. Pair AoE clear with single-target boss melt. Supports that slow or knock back multiply DPS value more than a fourth identical element attacker. When two S-tier units share a weakness, prefer the one whose element covers your missing matchup — that is why Best Units mode notes matter.

Range-oriented supports should stand where their circles touch the densest path segment. Puppetnightmare and Range III enchants make awkward tiles usable; without them, “support” units become expensive decorations.

How to transition boards

Do not scrap an early team overnight. Promote one mid carry at a time, move JJ/Toys to backup, then slot meta units as summons allow. Keep a story-clear board ready even while you chase Endless keys so Faz-Rating and quests stay healthy. Use How to Play habits so new mythics are placed and upgraded correctly instead of parked on bad tiles.

Strong teams are curated benches plus correct enchants — not screenshot copies with zero farm and empty Soul wallets.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Five TDs players on Roblox.

What is the best team composition in Five Nights TD 2?

Aim for 3–4 DPS plus 2–3 support or farm units. Late boards often center on Headless Horseman Mangle, Dreadbear, Purple Guy, and a farm or utility slot such as Fazcade or Party Packer Cupcake.

What should beginners run?

JJ / Paper Pals and Toy-line units clear early nights. Add Mangle, Purple Guy, and Withered carries as you summon, then graduate into meta names without abandoning placement fundamentals.

Do Endless and story use the same team?

Not always. Endless wants Fazcade and long-run coverage. Short story nights can drop pure farm for extra DPS. PvP needs ban-resistant flex options.

Which enchants belong on team cores?

Damage III or Haywire on DPS, Range III or Puppetnightmare on supports, and Investor on farm. See the Enchantments guide for full effect values.

Where do rankings for each unit live?

Use the Best Units tier list for Meta / S / A / B–C rankings and mode notes. This page focuses on how those units fit together on a board.

How often does the meta change?

Seasonal banners and balance patches can reshuffle the top. Recheck the tier list and this guide after major updates before dumping Souls into a new enchant plan.
